Description
Several dozen CIK members have completed the orientation on our new site. Lots of fun!
Next step, we're introducing the concept of Projects. Remember our "Special Interest Groups" (SIGS)? Projects are similar to SIGs. They are containers for special activities. Each project has it own goals; its own leader; its own membership; mailing list; document repository; its own discussion board; etc.
Project #1: Skype as a Collaboration Tool
Our first Project can be found at http://groupcommons.com/base/cik/skype/project/view after logging into http://cik.groupcommons.com It's an introduction to Skype as a Collaboration Tool. We'll use Skype to learn about online collaboration. We'll also be learning about organizing vitual communities on particular tasks. At every turn we'll make sure that we focus on how this tool can benefit your various groups and pursuits.

BTW, topic above could be any topic. Including some sort of project that you would like to host. Let me know if the idea of hosting a SIG appeals to you. We'll make a project. Sign people up. Show them your expertise!
